Tips for working with silk yarn

Silk has almost no stretch, so it's perfect for drapey shawls, summer tops, and crisp crochet. Wood needles and hooks give more control than metal on slippery silk. It grows a little when washed, so swatch and wash before measuring gauge. Merino blends add bounce and are easier to knit.
