Shawl knitting kits
Each shawl kit includes the yarn and pattern, with colors chosen to work together. Many are designed around one technique, so a shawl is a great way to learn something new: garter stitch in the Anica, elegant short rows in the Butterfly Papillon, linen stitch in the Divanyolu, and mosaic knitting in the Synchronicity. You'll also find the Beaubourg, Positive Vibrations, the Maya in two or three colors, and the bulky Marie from Herriot Great.
Pick your shawl by technique
If you're new to shawls, start with garter stitch. It's relaxing, reversible, and lets the color changes shine. Short rows create curved and wedge shapes, linen stitch makes a dense woven-looking fabric, and mosaic knitting creates bold two-color patterns while you only work with one color per row. Check the skill level, needle size, and finished measurements on each kit. Shawls are forgiving about gauge, but a swatch will show you how the colors play together.
