A soft, creamy off-white combed top in a natural undyed shade we call Milled Rice: the warm white of unbleached fiber rather than a stark optic white. Because it takes dye beautifully, it's a favorite base for hand-dyers, and it blends cleanly into heathers and gradients on the wheel or carder.
This is Polish Merino, a dual-purpose breed raised across the Polish countryside, prepared as smooth combed top that drafts evenly for spinning and felts predictably. At 27 micron it sits alongside Blue Faced Leicester, Corriedale, and Dorset Down: sturdy and lofty rather than ultra-fine, which makes it a workhorse for outerwear, accessories, and felting rather than next-to-skin garments.
