Undyed yarn for dyeing and natural color

Undyed yarn is a blank canvas for dyers and a soft natural shade for knitters. Choose from Blue Faced Leicester, merino sock yarn, Super Bionic merino and nylon, super bulky merino, Corriedale, and Cheviot, mulberry silk, and cotton.

Choosing a base for dyeing

Wool and silk take acid dyes, even food-safe ones like Kool-Aid. Cotton needs fiber-reactive dye. Superwash wool dyes bright and fast, while untreated wool gives softer, heathered color. For socks, pick a merino and nylon blend for durability. Test a small skein first.
