How to choose the right spinning bobbin

Bobbins are made for a specific wheel and flyer, so start with your wheel's brand and model. Most spinners want at least three: two to fill with singles and one to ply onto. A jumbo or bulky bobbin holds more yarn, but it usually needs a matching jumbo or bulky flyer. High-speed bobbins are for fine yarn on a high-speed setup. Weavers, note that a bobbin winder is a separate tool for loading boat shuttle bobbins and doesn't replace a spinning wheel bobbin.
